I'm Anu Vedaiyan - raised in North Carolina, USA and currently living in Boston, MA. My parents moved to the US when I was a year old from Trichy, Tamilnadu. I grew up in a strong Tamil community & strongly believe that has shaped me to be who I am today. Just like most other Tamil kids living abroad, I went to Tamil school, danced to all the popular Kollywood songs, and learned to embrace my culture. I've also experienced all the struggles of a Tamil kid living in America - struggling to balance the two cultures. Now that I'm an adult, I want nothing more than the current Tamil youth to take pride in who they are & what their background represents. I want to help pave the way for today's Tamil youth & help them in any way I can.

"I didn't think marriage was for me. Fast-forward four stressful years and I found myself sitting in front of the priest in a red saree with a guy next to me, repeating the chants the priest was reciting. Fast-forward another two years and I’m happily living in Boston with my husband. What happened?"
"You can always stop talking to someone if you’re not into each other, but only after you’ve given it a chance. If you immediately swipe left, you’re not even giving them the opportunity to get to know you. I distinctly remember swiping through this guy’s picture a few times, not knowing which way to swipe. I swiped right, just to give him the benefit of the doubt and now we’re happily married!"
