1983: Jude Ratnam was five years old when he and his family boarded a red train from the Sinhalese-dominated south of Sri Lanka towards the Tamil stronghold of the North in search of sanctuary, only to find further conflict. The result of ten years of work, Demons in Paradise follows Ratnam upon his return to the country as he reflects on 30 years of war that left lasting scars on the island and its people.
SLWB will be hosting a screening of Demons in Paradise, the acclaimed documentary by Tamil director, Jude Ratnam, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
