About me
I'm a Malaysian-Indian working as a bilingual counselor at a nonprofit agency dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence and building a community free of abuse in Chicago. I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2017 and long before then, have had a passion for issues of diversity and intersectionalism.
In Malaysia where I’m from, the Ministry of Education put out guidelines to help parents identify whether or not their child may be gay. These criteria, while laughable (examples include: does your daughter like to take her meals with other women?) speak volumes about the discrimination and oppression that queer communities face worldwide.
