The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is home to a vibrant community of artists and performers, and we are proud to say that the Tamil Community is a strong addition to this collective! Being one of the largest of its kind in the Tamil Diaspora community, CTYA's Thaalam is back for its eighth year; presented by Desjardins and powered by InForce Life! Thaalam 2019 is a dance competition with an added highlight on Gaana, that serves as a platform for dance enthusiasts to unite and showcase their talents. This event places the spotlight on Tamil culture through music and dance.

With highly talented and competitive teams participating this year, made up of over 150 dancers ranging from the ages of 13-30, Thaalam 2019 is going to rock the hearts of our audience. In order to facilitate youth talent in the arts field, the Arts & Culture Council of CTYA will be hosting this dance competition at the renowned John Bassett Theatre located in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Sunday July 14th, 2019. Doors open at 4:30 pm. General tickets are $35. Email arts.culture@ctya.org to reserve them now!
