Get to know our latest myTamilDate (MTD) success story! Our MTD couple was captured by our UK photography partner Photon Image by Daran.

Céline is a 26-year-old paralegal from London, UK working towards becoming a solicitor. She loves traveling, music, food, reading, movies and spending time with family and friends.

Santhous is a 29-year-old, also from London, who is co-CEO at Lucre Realty. He enjoys anime, food, travel, space and tech.

When did you first join myTamilDate.com? What made you give it a shot?

Céline: I joined myTamilDate in October 2021, and it was my first time trying online dating - it was recommended by my younger brother. My colleagues also really pushed me to join a dating site and I thought “let’s just give it a shot!” and here I am.

Santhous: I also joined in October 2021. I was pushed by my sister-in-law, by sending the link in a joint messaging group as I was the only single one from that group.

Who messaged first?

Céline: I did and the magic words were "Is your name pronounced Santhosh or Santhous!" I found the spelling of Santhous’ name very unique.

What first attracted you to the other person and made you want to meet in person?

Céline: Sense of humor on the phone and a big smile in the pictures 😊

Santhous: The cheeks and eyes in the pictures. Her voice and laugh on her voice notes made me want to meet her.

From messaging to the first date, how much time passed?

Céline: We started messaging and talking the same night we matched, then met up the next day.

How was your first date?

Santhous: We met at the library, grabbed a coffee and went for a walk through a park. We spent 3 hours together talking about various past, future and present events. We were very attracted to each other from the start.

Some studies say that within 30 seconds of meeting a new person, we can gauge attraction. Was that true for you?

Céline: Yes. We were very attracted to each other and still are <3

Santhous: Most certainly, I was very attracted to her, still am.

When did you realize that this was your ‘special someone’ and you could see yourself spending the rest of your life with them?

Céline: I knew after a couple of days of talking, he was the one. Santhous is a vibrant, energetic soul. The more I spoke to him, the more I started falling for him. He has never failed to make me laugh.

Santhous: When I started listening to her past, learned about the family and understood the person she wants to be. Equally, when she listened to my grand plan for my business ‘Lucre Realty’ and further endeavors into the tech industry. She was prepared to support me whilst knowing that I might not be able to devote as much time in person in the near/distant future as and when the business takes off.

How did your respective families and friends react to the fact you met on a dating site?

Céline: Both of our families were happy.

Santhous: In my case they were surprised how quickly it all went and how compatible we are.

How did you propose? When is the big day?

Céline: Not engaged yet – waiting :)

Santhous: Still a surprise!

What advice would you give to those looking for love but finding it difficult to meet someone?

Céline: Sign up for online dating. It seems daunting at first, but it’s safe to use. I signed up on myTamilDate for the first time and matched with Santhous after 7 days and deleted the app after meeting him.

Santhous: Don’t look for it, be spontaneous and be open to try something new at all times.

What factor would you say patience played in your journey of finding love?

Céline: Focusing on myself led me to finding love. It all happened unexpectedly.

Santhous: I was focusing on growing my business and met Céline unexpectedly.

Even though online dating is the most effective and popular way to get married these days, some people in the Tamil community still find it to be a taboo. What would you say to them?

Céline: Have an open mind to online dating. It’s the new way of meeting great people 😊

Santhous: Like Bruce Lee says – “Be like water.”
