"Heaven" is a song recorded by Critical Stage (Dhanushan Kemathas) released on June 27, 2020 as the lead single from his upcoming EP Waves. The song was produced by Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh, India) based rapper, singer and songwriter Prakhar Raikwar, and the recording management, mixing and mastering was handled by Sunthar Kanesan at Naadhaantham Studio, Oslo.
The track was inspired by The Chainsmokers song Closer and the Wavyy Jonez song You Gone, Live On which Kemathas listened to on repeat during the writing process. The song is about the struggles the artist faced on the streets and focuses mainly on the adolescent age and time travel with a romantic flavor mixed into it. He also goes briefly in depth on several subjects such as the faith in God, relationship issues, regrets, loss and the appreciation of the small things you have in life. The single was released on June 27, 2020 on all digital platforms.
The music video was directed by Kemathas himself and was shot and edited by his long time friend, Thilag Jeyaratnam. It also features Magnus Rygh Simonsen, a local freestyle scootering artist and skateboarder from Jessheim, Norway.
The official music video is scheduled to be released on July 4, 2020.
