My name is Arjun Palarajah and i'm one of what I'm sure is many members within the Tamil community who suffers from some form of mental illness. In my case, it's Type II Bipolar Disorder. I opened with this, not because that's what I chose to identify myself as, but rather it's the foundation on which I chose to build myself and the platform that I use to reach out to others. If it were not for my illness -- and my experience with it -- I never would have turned to music as an outlet. And THAT would have been the biggest tragedy.
My journey started in 2016, when I first met up with another Tamil artist by the name of Yanchan. He had taken me under his wing and mentored me through my first EP. I can't tell you how much he has helped me. He would make beats and give me studio time for free just to make sure I kept going with my music because that's how much faith he had in me. And in return I would co-write his music. We had a great relationship in and out of the studio. He was there for me when I needed help and I was there for him when he needed it. We had and still have a strong business relationship, but more importantly, we have an even stronger friendship.
This EP, SYNFUL, is a culmination of 2 years of blood, sweat, tears, doubt, belief and perseverance. I've evolved so much from my first project and I'm confident -- no, certain -- that anyone who listens to this EP will be saying "Wow, who is that!?!"
SYNFUL is an EP that consists of 7 songs. Each song highlights on of the Seven Deadly Sins and tells a story of how the right amount of each can either amaze you or consume you. This pulls inspiration from personal experience and the experiences I've witnessed. Not only does each song tell a story on it's own, but when played together, you'll find that they're woven in a way that tells an even bigger story from start to finish.
