Abby is a physiotherapist with extensive experience in the community, private and public sectors. She is passionate about consumer involvement in research, community engagement and enhancing awareness of inclusive practices for people with disabilities. Abby is currently a PhD student with the Australian Catholic University investigating and evaluating adapted bike riding for children with disabilities.
She currently is a board director of the United Nations Association of Australia’s Young Professional Network and holds the role of deputy chair of Ondru- a Melbourne-based non-profit humanitarian organisation. Abby has previously been on the board of the Collingwood Children’s Farm, Extended Families Australia and membership committee of the YWCA. Abby attended the UNAA’s inaugural study tour to Geneva; taking part in a week of meetings with UN staff and ambassadors, UN agencies and NGOs.
Abby holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, Graduate Certificate in International Health from Curtin University, Diploma of Management within the framework of women’s leadership through the YWCA and a Masters in Humanitarian Action and Sustainable Development at Deakin University.
