As a child to immigrant parents who wanted the best for their child, they enrolled me in the Immersion Program. However, little did they know social class plays a role in these special programs. Being bullied at a young age and growing up to be someone who advocates for change, my co-founder Korina and I have started a school where all students could feel represented in their studies and can flourish in a compassionate environment.
Roots to Routes Academy will take you from uneasy and self-doubting students to a confident minority student who is equipped with the tools to believe in themselves. Our students can encourage change in our society through our culturally responsive and reflective credit courses without the conformity of mainstream curriculum.
