I am Barath, presenting myself to you all, believe me, this isn’t easy for me. Well, I am just an ordinary man, originally from a village called Arasampatti, Krishnagiri district. Living in Chennai with a regular day job as a Mechanical Engineer working as a team leader in an engineering services company based in Chennai.
Once I happened to volunteer at a visually challenged school, The Government High School, Poonamallee. This gave me a closer insight into how they face their everyday life, the struggles they undergo, and the positive attitude they have towards their struggles. They truly inspired me. These experiences aspired me to bring differences in their society, if not big, but in every possible way we can with the help and support of our valuable volunteers.
“Lit The Light” is a voluntary services group that supports Visually Impaired students by helping them in their academics, extracurricular activities, job placements, and overall growth. Our organization is actively involved in the empowerment of these students.
