comdu.it is a portmanteau of "community" and "conduit".

We are a fast growing global network of diaspora changemakers committed to the sustainable development of the North and East of Sri Lanka. We are focused on helping shift diaspora engagement from charity to sustainability, from aid to economic development, and from supporting remittance economies to building knowledge-based economies.

Since 2014, we are focused on facilitating diaspora technical assistance and knowledge to strengthen local community-based organisations that serve vulnerable populations. To this end, we have successfully placed nearly a dozen diaspora professionals – from municipal planners to educators and law students to business professionals – in community-building projects throughout the North and East.

We are registered as Non-Profit Corporation No. 1959845 in Ontario, and currently operate in Canada and Germany.
