The Perfect Smokey Eye
When it comes to makeup, I speak for most women when I describe the difficulty in perfecting the smokey eye. There are countless Youtubers demonstrating ‘easy’ ways to create a smokey eye but somehow I’m left with two eyes that dare I say resemble the likeness of a panda more than Kim Kardashian.

Needless to say, the smokey eye has to be one of the most popular makeup trends around. Which I think is pretty valid. When it’s done properly it can really be quite complimenting. The struggle to achieve this however is not so appealing. So what’s the best way to achieve a smokey eye?

A few tips of the trade when it comes to achieve ultimate smokiness;

- Identify the shade

- Identify the intensity

- Identify the shape

- Blend, blend blend!

When it comes to a smokey eye, you can really go as wild or as natural as you want. The first thing you need to decide is what shade you're going for. Smokey eyes don’t need to be black, so be creative and use colours that suit your skin tone for example; dark brown, purples, golds etc. The next thing to consider is how dark you’ll want to go on your eyes. Once you have an idea of the intensity you want, start of slowly and build up the colour. It’s important that you are aware of your eye shape and work accordingly. The best way to do this, to map out where the highlight and contour around your eyes will be at the start and use them as guidelines. The final and most important thing to remember is to blend. A good smokey eye doesn't happen in a minute, take your time and build up the colour, this will give you the most complimenting look.

So as you can see, creating a smokey eye may not be quick but with a few straight forward steps it is most definitely achievable. With autumn/winter just round the corner a good smokey eye is just what we need to get through the dreadful weather don't you think?
