Sri Lankan High Commission Brigadier in London Makes “Throat-Cutting Gestures” to Tamil Protesters

British Tamil

British-Tamil protesters formed outside the Sri Lankan High Commission in London on Sunday February 4th on Sri Lanka’s Independence Day to demand justice for Tamils in Sri Lanka.

During the peaceful protest, Brigadier Priyankara Fernando was caught on video running his finger across his neck so as to make a throat-cutting gesture to the Tamil protesters on site.

Labour MPs Joan Ryan and Siobhain McDonagh have called for Fernando to be expelled for his “inappropriate, unacceptable, and threatening” behaviour.
