This year’s Fall season is filled with warm, rich tones. Runways have swapped the soft pastel palette for a range of golden jewel tones. One look in particular has become hard to miss. Ever since high profile actress Deepika Padukone sported this makeup look for the front cover of the coveted Vogue India magazine, the beauty world has become obsessed!

Lakme Fashion Week's 2014 Winter Festive event was filled with designers who chose to use this regal makeup look for their shows. Armaan & Aiman + Farah Sanjana, Nakkashi presents Vikam Phadnis, Suhani Pittie + SHEHLAA by Shehla Khan were all shows that sported this incredibly elegant makeup look on their runways.

So why is this look covered by so many South Asian elites in the beauty industry?

The versatility in the style seems to be a key reason for why it seems to be so popular. The tones used in this makeup look suit various shades of skin and can be adapted to many preferences. Heavy liner and bold lips is a trend that has always remained a staple makeup look within the beauty industry for years, but the shades used this season are particularly favoured by many. What seems to be the most striking part of this makeup look is the deep wine red lip. Brands such as Estee Lauder have released a Pure Color Lipstick in the shade Brazen that is a perfect match for this opulent lip colour. However, if you do not want to spend so much on a lipstick, Revlon have released a shade in their lipstick range called Black Cherry which is an extremely intense red lip colour perfect for recreating this look.

Given that this is such a hit look at the moment, Asian beauty bloggers have produced many tutorials on how to recreate this look. I was particularly impressed by YouTube Beauty Blogger - Kaushal Beauty who recreated the original makeup sported by Deepika Padukone which you can view here.

So what do you guys think? Are you as impressed with this makeup look? Or are there any other trends you guys are obsessed with at the moment? Comment below and share your thoughts!
