Aziz Ansari, whose parents are from Tamil Nadu, has just made history. He's the first actor of South Asian background to be nominated for an Emmy for a leading role in a television series.

His 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series' nod has been given for his portrayal of Dev Shah on Master of None where his real father and mother have made guest appearances, and they've even had interactions in Tamil on the show.
