Cologne, Germany is playing a vital role in the preservation of the Tamil language. With a collection of over 40,000 Tamil books, a Cologne University library carries the largest collection outside of Tamil Nadu in India.
As you know, TC articles are written and published in English. This is to make it easy for Tamils around the world (some who have a good grasp of the Tamil language and some who don’t), and those from other communities, to connect with and access a global Tamil perspective.
Dr. Ravi Gukathasan, who completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough, has gifted the institution with their largest donation ever from an alum. This announcement comes in time for Tamil Heritage Month, which is celebrated in January in Canada.
