Emerging Tamil Diaspora Talent from Europe

When it comes to Tamil entertainment, Kollywood is king. The South Indian film industry alone is estimated to be worth $428 million (2013 KPMG report). Given the financial resources and the concentration of creative talent in the region, it’s no surprise that they have such a mass following and influence on Tamils around the world. But lately, there has been an increase in the volume and quality of entertainment created by Tamils from the western diaspora.

“Kangal Rendum Pesuthey,” a recently released music video, is a perfect example of that. With a strong collaboration between young Tamils from Germany and Switzerland – the music video brings together emerging talents from Europe.

The music was produced by Kausikan Sivalingam, an audio engineer for Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The lyrics for the song were written by none other than Dayan Shan of TamiLOL.

And there’s an appearance from comedian A.K Rajah of Keep Calm and Eat Sooru.

  1. Why are Tamil people watching crap from Kollywood who don’t even produce movies in their own language? Kollywood is Indian not even Lankan.
